Museum Days

September 12 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Free

Step back in time during Saline County Museum Days on Saturday, September 12, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and discover the rich history that makes our community so special!

As one of the participating sites, the Shoppach House invites you to explore one of Benton’s oldest surviving brick homes and experience the stories that helped shape Saline County. During your visit, you’ll learn about John William Shoppach, a German immigrant, his family, and the remarkable legacy they left behind through the construction of this historic home.

Take a self-guided journey, or a tour from one of our board members,  through the house and admire its preserved architecture, and hear fascinating stories about life in 19th-century Arkansas. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a longtime resident, or simply looking for a fun family activity, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience local history firsthand.

While you’re out, be sure to visit the other participating museums and historic sites across Saline County to make the most of this special day celebrating our shared heritage.

Admission is free, and all ages are welcome. We look forward to welcoming you to the Shoppach House and sharing the stories that continue to make this historic landmark an important part of our community.
